I’m fine thanks.
I’ve just been getting stressed out by things I don’t understand since this film came out. I mean, I was waiting for it for about a year, was really super excited for it, and thought it was an amazing movie. I knew Tumblr was going to be booming with people talking about it, fan-art, everything. But when I load my dash I have posts like these just from today:
These are all normally really good people who are suddenly threatening others and calling them “Nasty”, “Disgusting”, “Freaks”, and then threatening them with harm like “I will go to your house and break your shins with a bat”, “I’ll straight up punch you”, and “pummel you to death in the most painful way possible.” This isn’t funny. Even if there is no intention to ever carry out the threats in reality, the berating and name calling is real.
I loved this movie, and to see such a huge crowd of normally awesome people tell others “Enjoy this movie only in the way I have authorized or there will be consequences” is one of the strangest authoritarian turns I’ve ever seen a message about love and diversity take.
There was an entire fight that broke out over the definition of the word “Yaoi” because to some people it contains a strong inclination to abuse and to another person it just meant a gay medium. People are literally fighting and trying to mass up support to continue fighting because they disagree on the meaning of a word!
I’m definitely not saying that people who don’t like NSFW art should go enjoy it. It’s perfectly fine to not like something. It’s the hunt and persecution of people who like something you don’t like that I’m not understanding coming from a group who just broke out of that themselves.
These are people who have rallied for safe spaces, where people can exist without being bullied for who they are. We all know what it’s like to be called a freak, to be yelled at and hurt for being who we are and liking what we like. It hurts, we know it hurts. So how is it that after dealing with these things ourselves so many are so quick to turn around and create a club for no homers.
“So as long as you’re the type of person we approve of, then you shouldn’t be called awful names and berated. If you don’t fall into a category that we’ve deemed worthy then you’re fair game for being bullied and ridiculed.”
That just doesn’t make sense to me. How can people rationalize the hurt and name calling with this strange mantra that these fictional characters must be protected? So people who actually exist must be called “freaks”, they should be called, “disgusting”, we should harass them, ruin their reputations, and threaten them with physical abuse in order to “protect” the image of characters that don’t exist?
And I know these are normally really good people who would protect the real people who need protecting. So I just don’t understand how an animated film about acceptance has brought out such a hurtful side of the people here. Maybe it’s not worth getting involved, but I’m not the kind of person who can sit by and watch others be name called and abused, even if it means I have to take the punches with them.
That and I was already on edge for over a week with a lot of personal issues. When it rains it pours you know?
I haven’t posted anything here for a while. And unlike Tarostrike this is a safe blog here with no NSFW, but this needs to be said. Just because you don’t like what another person fantasizes about is no reason to be mean to them.
Have differences of opinion, that’s fine. But don’t become the bullies we’ve spent so long trying to overcome.
kaise531 asked: Hi Revu! I don't know if you're still active on this account, but here goes! I love your fanfiction ZAT: The Immortal Saiyan, and have been toying with the idea of creating an RP blog based off of your version of Gohan. I don't want to just go ahead with it if you're not okay with me doing it, so do you think it's a good idea? Thanks!
Hey! Sorry I was offline for so long. That sounds like it would have been an awesome idea!
I came online actually because I was even toying with the idea of starting an RP ask blog based off of my Legend Gohan and then saw your message lol!
Hope life’s being awesome!

I’m becoming more and more convinced that the media is starting to just pull Pokemon GO stories out of their asses.
This story literally makes no sense… Allegedly, a woman climbed a tree in a cemetery, got stuck, and called 911 to get help down. When the firefighters got stuck she tells them she was playing Pokemon GO and trying to catch a Pokemon.
NO! That’s not how this game even works!
Since Pokemon GO came out there have been stories of trainers wondering into buildings, and into dangerous places trying to get rare Pokemon, but I really believe many of these stories to be media hype in which the reports are trying to demonize something they don’t understand.
To debunk this story real quick… Pokemon GO has no way of calculating your altitude. It’s a two dimensional world and cares nothing about your height. You also don’t need to be standing right on top of a Pokemon or Poke Stop or Gym in order to interact with it. You have a 50 meter range, more than 150 feet! I’ve been on the roof of a five story parking garage and caught Pokemon across the street! The altitude doesn’t matter, and the 150 foot range is more than adequate to catching Pokemon inside most buildings and yards without having to actually enter them.
The only possible reason I can see for someone wanting to climb a tree for GO is to take a picture of a Pidgey in a tree with AR Mode (Augmented Reality) on. But if you want a picture of a Pidgey in a tree, I can photoshop one for you right now!
There! That literally took less than a minute!
So one, most of these stories about Pokemon GO just can’t be true. And two, the ones that are true just aren’t Pokemon GO’s fault, but once again stupid people doing stupid things and finding something to blame rather than just admitting to the fact, “Sorry officer, I was being stupid.”
Evernote just decided it doesn’t like me anymore.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who uses Evernote. I’ve used the free Evernote App for a few years, it got me through college, I continued using it to take notes during meetings at work, and to jot down my story ideas. I loved having the widget on my phone that let me immediately record audio, pictures, and write down quick reminders. It was especially cool that everything I wrote down on my phone would sync to my home computer, laptop, and work computer. This week though, Evernote has announced that if you want to keep your free account then you can only sync to two devices.
So for a while I was thinking maybe I should just invest in an account for Evernote. It’s been there for me for a long time, has helped me out when I needed it, maybe I should show some loyalty and throw them some money. The thought then struck me that basically what they’re doing is trying holding the one feature I want hostage while trying to make me pay for a bunch of features I don’t care about. I’m not really cool with that.
